How to pay your water bill in Albania
Updated: 9 October 2026
The water bill comes from your city’s water utility (ujësjellësi), usually every month. The amount changes with how much you use, so it’s worth reading it each time, not just paying it.
What you need
- Your customer or contract code, printed on the bill. It’s how your bill is found wherever you pay.
- The amount and the due date, both on the bill.
Where you can pay
- In your bank’s app or online banking, under bill payments, if your city’s water utility is on the list.
- At a bank counter, with the bill or your customer code.
- Through payment agents in your neighbourhood.
- At the water utility’s offices in your city.
Payment options differ from city to city. The exact list is on the official website or at the offices of your city’s water utility.
What to check on the bill
- The meter reading: compare it with the number on your own meter. If the bill is based on estimated use (no reading), it can be far from the real figure.
- Old arrears: if the bill shows an old unpaid amount that you did pay, keep the receipt and complain to the water utility.
- A sudden jump can mean a leak at home. Turn off every tap and see whether the meter keeps moving.
How not to miss the due date
- Set a monthly reminder a few days before the due date.
- Keep proof of payment, even as a photo, until you see it reflected on the next bill.
